This Week at Broadmoor

September 4, 2005 A.M. - Nashville
Pastor Peterson spoke about Communion in this morning's message  The Intended Plan of Remembrance.  He spoke about the perfect sacrifice, Jesus, who gave that sacrifice, God, and what it means for and to us, salvation.  When we participate in Communion as instructed by Jesus, we remember and honor Him, the perfect sacrifice for us all.

Bro. Dean Park  Spoke on Faith.  at the request of Pastor Peterson this evening.  Using experiences in his own life coupled with many different passages from the Holy Bible, Bro. Park brought out how we can through faith achieve many things, be supplied of our needs from God, increase our faith, and also, to be able to help others.  We are not guaranteed an easy road but God will always be there for us as He is faithful even when we are not.

This morning the sweet Spirit of the Lord filled the Sanctuary during the Praise and Worship Service.  This paved the way for Pastor Peterson's message,  Nothing to Loose.  Satan has nothing to lose as he has already lost everything as told in Geneses 3:15, John 19:30, and Colossians 2:14-17.  On the other hand, we have everything to gain, a place created by God and to be in His holy presence!  The Holy Spirit continued to bless us with His presence and one person came forward and received Salvation!

August 14, 2005 A.M. - Nashville
This morning the Spirit of the Lord filled the Sanctuary with His mighty presence.  Pastor Peterson, led by the Spirit, turned the service over to the Holy Spirit.  Praise went up, a message from the Holy Spirit was delivered and interpreted, in which, God proclaimed that He was the Creator, that He had the power to heal us and provide for our needs and the desire to do so, and that He desired and instructed us to praise him!  Several were anointed with oil and then prayed for, that they be healed.  One person came and received Salvation!

It was truly an awesome experience being in His mighty presence again!  Thank you, Heavenly Father.

July 17, 2005 A.M. Praise and Worship - Nashville
This morning's powerful Praise and Worship Service was led by the Broadmoor Youth in the mighty presence of the Holy Spirit.  The theme was "Look satan, This Is The Way That It Is".  They presented a drama, sang, and danced before the Lord to demonstrate that we should be ready to accept and to positively accept what the Lord has for us and what He has promised to us.
I Came To Get My Blessing
I Came To Stake My Claim
NO Body Can Stop Me From Receiving My Blessing
Jesus Knows Just What I Need
He Said: Ask And Ye Will Receive

This morning after a powerful Praise and Worship service, Pastor Peterson  presented his message, Oh, The Power Of Praise.  Pastor Peterson brought out that even though David had serious lapse in both judgment and Godliness, he continued to seek and PRAISE the Lord out of the depths of his soul.  David did this from the beginning of his life until the very end.  The Word tells us this about Praise:
1.The DEAD cannot praise the Lord (Psalm 115:17)
2.We are to ENTER into the courts with praise (Psalms 100:4)
3.David offered praise 7 TIMES A DAY (Psalm 119:164)
4.Praise God ALL YE His servants (Rev.19:5)
Even in David’s twilight years, he still continued to praise God.

The annual Broadmoor Family Memorial,  honoring all families who lost a loved one in the past year, was held today at Broadmoor.  As their pictures were displayed upon the screen, the names of nineteen departed family members were read along with the names of the surviving family members.  Four of the nineteen were World War II veterans.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you as well as our thanks to those who served that we might have the freedom to worship God when and where we choose.

Following a musical program that praised God and saluted our country, and the Family Memorial presentation,  Pastor Peterson  presented his message  You Might Be A Water Walker If....  Check this out along with other fine messages in our  Study and Worship Aids  section.

Our   Spring Revival  with  Rev. Shelton Smith  began in a great way today.  The presence of the Holy Spirit was evident from the beginning of the service.  Rev. Smith spoke from Acts about the fear of the Lord and that it is this fear that will bring us closer to God with an attitude of respect and worship.  He read Acts 5:11-16 and asked Pastor Peterson to read Acts 19:17.  He used examples from his own life experiences to demonstrate his message.  At the end of the service all came down to the front of the sanctuary and Holy Spirit gave a message in tongues and touched many who were there.

Today was Pastor Appreciation Day.  The choir was obviously inspired by the Holy Spirit as they sang praises to His name.  Prior to the offering for Pastor Peterson, the Holy Spirit moved in a mighty way.  Young and old alike were dancing in the Spirit all around the sanctuary!  Prayer and praise to His holy name went up from the entire congregation.  After the offering was received, Pastor and Sister Peterson were presented with an all expenses paid Ocean Cruise to the Bahamas!  Sister Peterson said that this was the answer to a prayer, her prayer, but she would invite Pastor to go along with her!  The Pastor graciously accepted her invitation.

After the presentation, several members of the staff came and spoke for a few minutes on what the Pastor meant to them.  He was kidded and also received well deserved accolades.  It was summed up best by one of the speakers who described Pastor Peterson as a true shepherd, someone not just biding their time until their paycheck came but someone willing to sacrifice for the benefit of his flock.  Thank you Pastor Peterson and God bless you and Sister Peterson!

The annual  Mother Daughter Banquet,  honoring Mothers' Day, was held at Broadmoor.  The gym was turned into a fine dining area.  The men of the church cooked, served, and did a great job of it.  They did have a little help from some of the ladies earlier in the day.  The Chicken Cordon Bleu was very good and the cheese cake wasn't bad either!

This morning after a great Spirit led Praise and Worship service, Pastor Peterson  presented his message, Lord, Don't Hurt Me.  When Jacob wrestled with the angel he was broken both emotionally and physically.  Jacob Needed To Be Alone With God.  Jacob Had To Be Hungry For God.  Jacob Needed To Be Broken By God.  Remember, Jacob had to endure a BREAKING before he could receive a BLESSING.

The presence of the Holy Spirit was evident from the minute that you entered the Sanctuary tonight.  Pastor Peterson called several present in the service to come and stand in for those who had needs and were not able to be in the service.  The presence of the Holy Spirit immediately increased as prayer for those needs along with praises went up to God.  The Holy Spirit moved in a mighty way.  Prayer, praise, and testimonies continued for the entire service.  It was a time that prayers were answered, a time that souls were fed and blessed, a time of thanks to God and testimonies of His blessings to us, a time to commune with God in his Holy Presence!  Praise be to His holy name for His presence, His healing, His salvation, and His being the source to supply all of our needs!

This morning after a great Praise and Worship service, Pastor Peterson  presented his message, Our Constant Contention (Satan).  In this life satan's strategy to entrap us is to charm us, to confuse us, to temp us, and to consume us.  To overcome satan, we must know his devices, submit ourselves to God fully, resist satan, and abstain from all appearance of evil.  To do this and to be able to use the name of Jesus, we must truly know Jesus and let him be Lord of our life.

A message from the Holy Spirit, delivered in tongues, prompted us to act as Christians and to do what we are supposed to do as Christians for the time of His returning is soon.

This evening  Pastor Peterson presented the message, It Is A Short Life.  In the message, Pastor Peterson states, "I believe that we are compelled of God to make a settlement with Him concerning 3 matters in our life."  Those three issues are 1) Settle With God Concerning Salvation, 2) Settle With God Concerning Surrender, and 3) Settle With God Concerning Your Service.  Even if you are very young, your life will pass by fast.  As the Word of God states, it will seem as a vapor.  (I Samuel 20:3, II Samuel 14).  Time is short, the harvest is ripe, and the time to settle these issues is Now.

After a tremendous presentation by the Broadmoor Choir, Pastor Peterson  presented his message, What About Your Tomb?.  Jesus was faced with three tombs while he was on earth.  The Tomb of Legion was full of horrible things.  This shows us that Jesus can deliver us from anything but we must first ask him.  The Tomb of Lazarus shows us that we sometimes lack faith.  We must believe in Jesus.  The Tomb of Jesus, or death, could not hold Him.  Jesus died to set us free of death.  Are you free?

On Good Friday, the Broadmoor Solid Rock Youth Ministry presented a live Crucifixion scene on the front lawn of the Church. It ran from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Visitors stopped by to view it first hand.

Many drivers that passers by often waved or honked their horns in acknowledgement. Most drivers slowed as they passed by the Church. The Youth are doing a great job again this year and presented it in a very realistic fashion.

After our Praise and Worship Service Pastor Peterson presented his message,  Transferred To Jesus.  How could you believe in God, and not in miracles?  We are miracles!  Our faith must go beyond miracles.  God is still in the miracle business.  Miracles center around the Word.

Prayer For My Week:  God grant me my miracle.  I pledge to you that I will:  Believe Your Word, Hear Your Word, Obey Your Word, Rest in Your Word.  I turn my miracle over to You Lord, Amen.

Pastor Peterson  presented his message,
This World Can't Get Me Down.  Romans 12:2 tells us "Be ye not conformed to this World".  Even though we are troubled constantly by satan, our Lord inspired us in His Word to be Overcomers.  One of the most outstanding verses of encouragement we as Christians have is Romans 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified Through faith, we have peace with God Through our Lord Jesus Christ." (NIV)  Finally, Paul tells us in Philippians 4:13 that he could, "Do all things through Christ that strengtheneth him."

After the Morning Service the Broadmoor Solid Rock Youth Ministry sponsored the annual "Men's Chili Cook off.  There were several contestants that entered.  The judges along with the congregation thoroughly enjoyed the Chili Dinner.  The first pot of chili was labeled "Hot" and it was so tasty that it took first place.  It was prepared and entered by Dean Park.  Doug Dano took second or as he put it "the first loser", Rev. Luther Ramsey took third place, and Mike Silvas, one of our youth, took fourth place.

Pastor Peterson  presented his message,
A Proper Burial,  which tells us the what, why, and how we are to follow Jesus and be baptized.  After the service, 10 were baptized including men, women, and children!  The ladies outnumbered the men by 7 to 3.  As always, it was a life changing experience!

Pastor Peterson  presented the message, Remember Jesus Christ.  As "Remember Pearl Harbor" became the battle cry for World War II, "Remember Jesus" should become our battle cry for today!  Those things that we have witnessed and experienced from Jesus should compel us to convey the name of Jesus along with what he has done for us, to all those who have not heard of or have not experienced the Saving Grace of Jesus.

Pastor Peterson presented his message,  Miracles Manually, Not By Remote Control,  despite a balky sound system.  The sound system would partially diminish and then return as if to emphasize the points of this morning's message.  Are you in the need of a miracle?  Miracles require effort on our part, too.  Miracles Require Our Faith.  Miracles Require Our Participation.  Miracles May Require Extra Duty.  How important is your miracle to you?  Remember, God is no respecter of persons or in other words if He has done it for anyone else, He can do it for you.

Pastor Peterson  had prepared his message,
Remember Jesus Christ, for the evening service but he followed the leading of the Holy Spirit and a great prayer, praise, and healing service broke out.  In doing this, we really did remember Jesus and all that he did for us and we give Him the thanks, the glory, and praise.

January 2, 2005 A.M. - Nashville
This morning Pastor Peterson presented a timely and serious message,  Changing The Direction Of Our Sails,  We often refer to life as it were upon a great sea.  Some would say they were sailing along good and some not so good.  It doesn't take long when watching a sail boat, to watch the seaman change the direction of the sail if need be.  How we would benefit if we would do likewise and adjust our life according to the direction of the Holy Spirit.

To do this  1) We Must Believe In God’s Promise.  2) We Need To Look At Where We Have Sailed From.  3) We Need To Look Ahead Or Adjust The Sail.

Life is short.  Are you adjusting your life according to the direction of the Holy Spirit?

In this morning's service two people adjusted their direction as they came forward and received Salvation.  PRAISE GOD!
