Let Us Go Over To The Other Side
Text: Mark 4:35-41
A. Let Us Go Over To The Other Side
- Those who follow Jesus are not allowed to stay in one place and stagnate.
- There is always another side for those who serve the Lord.
- There is another side for those who refuse to accept the Lord Jesus as Savior.
- There is another side for the old and another side for the young.
- Another side for the rich and another side for the poor.
- Another side for the beautiful and another side for the homely.
B. Let Us Go Over To The Other Side
- Going to the other side can be exciting, but it is no pleasure trip when Jesus is on board.
- Jesus did not steer the disciple’s boat to the other side, but He calmed the storm so that the disciples could steer.
C. Let Us Go Over To The Other Side
- Jesus did not force anyone into the boat.
- They had to choose to get into a boat with a physically tired Jesus and either head out into the night or to stay with a crown that was highly excited about seeing Jesus and His miracles.
- They had to leave the side where Jesus cast a demon out of a man in a synagogue where Jesus taught. (The synagogue crown was used to words but not the supernatural power that overcomes Satan.) Mark 1:21-28
- They had to leave the side where Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law...where He healed a man with leprosy… where He healed the paralytic.. ”Take up your bed (mat) and walk.” Mark 2.
- They had to leave the side where He taught them in parables...where Jesus was baptized...where Jesus appointed the Twelve.
- They had to go to the side where an entire town had given up on controlling the power of the devil. Mark 5:2-4.
D. Let Us Go Over To The Other Side
- They went to the side where the devil had been in charge too long.
- They saw 2,000 examples of the Power of the Word of the Lord and against Satan’s hosts.
- The saw a man totally changed.
- They saw a town that could only see their pigs - but where Jesus saw a man in great need and the man saw Jesus.
E. Let Us Go Over To The Other Side
- What do you see when the Power of God is manifested?
- What do you desire the Power of God to do today?
- He has come here today to go with you and another side...
Get on Board!!

7 Ways to Praise
Repetitious Religious Ritual (or, How to irritate a loving God)
What does the Bible mean we it says to "PRAISE"?
How do YOU Praise?
Does it matter "HOW" you Praise?
Does it matter "WHEN" you Praise?
God is very specific in how and when we are to praise Him
In order to investigate what God meant by "Praise", we must go beyond the English language
There are 7 Hebrew word that we interpret as "PRAISE" in the English language
To establish a closer relationship with God, and to get as close to him as possible, we MUST understand what God meant about praise
- Yadah
YAD - THE OPEN HAND, DIRECTION AH - REFERRING TO JEHOVAH YADAH - HANDS TO GOD
WHEN WE GET BEYOND OUR CIRCUMSTANCES, BEYOND OUR SELVES, REACHING HANDS TO THE FATHER WITH THE ATTITUDE OF LOVE, TRUST AND AWE, THEN WE ARE GIVING YADAH TO THE LORD
- Towdah
TO EXTEND THE HANDS
TO SPEAK THE SAME THING
TO DECLARE OPENLY AS TRUTH...CONFESS
JESUS, THE WORD, IS OUR SACRIFICE TO CONFESS THE WORD IS HOW WE GIVE A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE TO GOD.
FURTHER, THE WORD IS OUR ENTRANCE INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
- Shabach
A LOUD ADORATION
THE TESTIMONY OF WHAT GOD HAS DONE
A JOYFUL TO OVERFLOWING ATTITUDE
- Barauch
TO EXPRESS AN ATTITUDE OF LOVE,
SUBMISSION AND TRUST THROUGH THE ACT OF KNEELING OR BOWING
IT IS TO CONTINUALLY GIVE PLACE TO THE FATHER IN EVERY AREA OF OUR LIFE
A LIFESTYLE
- Zamar
TO SING SONGS OF PRAISE WITH INSTRUMENTS
YOU SPEAK YOUR PRAISE IT IS NOT ZAMAR
- Halal
HALAL IS TO RAVE UPON THE LORD
TO BE CLAMOROUSLY FOOLISH BEFORE THE LORD
THE WORD HALLELUJAH COMES FROM
"YOU HALAL TO YAHWEH"
- Tehillah
UNREAHEARSED SPONTANIOUS
Singing from a melody in your heart by adding words to it
STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART
A NEW SONG
Conclusion:
Notice the "Action"
- Lifting the hands
- Confessing His word
- Testimony of His grace
- Bowing down
- Singing
- Making music
- Shouting
- Dancing
- Service to others as unto the Lord

You Don't Want To Be Where God Used To Be
Text: Judges 4:14-16
Preface: To be in the Will of Almighty God is the greatest position a Child of God can be in. I believe to be in the Will of God, one must be in the Presence of God, and not where He used to be. We want to study today about a man called Sis-e-ra, also another man by the name of Bar-ak. A Judge of Israel called Deb-o-rah, who was the only woman judge during this period of Biblical history.
A. Sis-a-ra’s Confidence
His chariots had been his pride and confidence. Isaiah 46:1 tells us , "The idol may quickly become a burden." He thought to destroy Israel with his "Iron chariot", but was instead destroyed himself with one "Iron nail" (4:21). Sisera turned to what he thought to be his friend (Ja-el), but was his demise.
B. Deborah’s Prophecy (4:4)
Deborah informed Barak that God wanted to take the great Army of Sisera. Barak asked that she make the journey with him for he depended upon her to inform him when God would have him attack (4:8). Israel was in bondage to Jaban, King of Canaan, Sisera served as Jaban’s captain.
C. God In Front.
If Israel had obeyed God in the past and destroyed the Canaanites as He commanded, they would not face this enemy now. Deborah informed Barak that God was already in front of them and had ordered the forward advance (4:9).
D. Take Note
What happened when God had been present, but moved on;
- Adam and Eve
- David
- Judas
- Peter

Faith On The Move
Text: 1 Kings 17:1-6
Preface: This passage gives us a vivid picture of the direction and care of God in difficult situations. Also it gives us a birds eye view of Faith on the GO. There is more to faith than belief!
A. THIS WAS A DROUGHT ELIJAH HAD SPOKEN INTO BEING
- Suffering is Part of the Call -
- Elijah was in the middle of a draught, he himself had proclaimed to carry out the plan of God.
- Sometimes we must be in the middle of the same mess that comes on others even when we are obeying God. (1Peter 4:12-13)
- We are going to be in tribulation. It is Natural! (Matthew 5:45)
B. HE WAS WHERE GOD SENT HIM
1 Kings 17:3-4 "Go to Cherith"......."I will feed you there"
- God Always Makes Provision for you "where He sends you."
- Are you where the blessing of God has been sent for you?
- Often God send "Just Enough" not abundance. That doesn't make it wrong
C. THE PROVISION DRIED UP
- God Blesses As Long As You Are in His Will or Plan
- When it is time to make a change, God will dry up the source
- What would have happened if God had not dried up the brook?
- He would have stayed in the Comfort Zone
D. GOD TOLD HIM TO "GO"
When God got Elijah’s attention, He told him to GO!
- Jesus even told His disciples to GO.
- Be Doers of the Word, not hearers only.
E. GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU
- God had already made provision for Elijah
- Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have for you!
- Psalm 37:23 Our steps are ordered
- God’s Plan Benefits Others Too
- God made provision for the widow by the widow making provision for Elijah!
- When you live your life for God, you will not always be comfortable or in control.
- When God is in control, that is enough!

GIVING BIRTH TO PRAISE
In the Bible it is extremely interesting to note the meaning behind names; to whom they were given and why. For Example: Isaac = Laughter; Jacob = Heel catcher; cheat; deceiver, supplanter; Israel = Prince with God.
- In this story, Leah wanted Jacob’s love more than anything. In her pursuit to win her husbands affection she bore several children
- (7 herself & 4 by her handmaiden)
- Here we see Leah giving birth to her 4th son and she named him Judah which means "Praise or Celebrated."
- What Brought Her To This Point?
A. Leah Abandoned her Desire to Fulfill herself
- She had put forth all her effort to gain her husband’s love
- Often We Do Good for the Wrong Reason
- There was a Selfish Motive with the 3 prior sons
- When you feel uncomfortable with self, you may act upon wrong motives.
B. She Accepted the Call To Please God and No Other.
- She named her First child Reuben - "SEE YE A SON!"
- The 2nd Simeon ("Shim-own") meaning "HEARING" Give Me Attention
- 3rd Levi - "ATTACHED" I have my grasp on you.
- BUT NOW she turns her objective to the Lord!
- Your Priority Must Be To Please God
- Trying to please People...You will Fail
- If you don't please God, it doesn't matter whom else
you do please.
C. Turn Attention To God’s Blessing
- Now I Will Praise!
- Her 4th Son Is Named Judah (Celebrated or Praise).
- She Took Control of Her Life & Her Tongue
- The Power of Life & Death In your Tongue
- Abraham could have called the mountain of sacrifice The Mountain of My Hardest Trial" BUT INSTEAD he called it "Jehova-Jireh" God Will Provide!
- When Rachel bore her last son unto Jacob as she was dying she named him Benoni - meaning "Son of My Sorrow" but instead Jacob refused and named Him BENJAMIN - “Son of My Right Hand”
- When David suffered the death of his first son of Bathesheeba he could have cursed and lamented but instead (II Sam 12:20) he WORSHIPPED GOD
D. What Are You Calling Your Circumstance? Psa 84:5-6
- How we look at our circumstances and the motive of our actions affects the results of our efforts!
- Are you serving God? -OR-
- Are you trying to accomplish something to improve self worth?

IF WE FAINT NOT
Text: Galatians 6:7-9 KJV
- We live in a world of * Put Off Principles, * Ignored Integrity, and *Abandoned Commitment as we claim to find ? New Ways Of Living, ? Better Business Operations & ? Commitment Of Convenience.
- We live in a world where Christians often live dangerously close to the edge, hanging on to their faith only as long as it doesn't get too difficult, doesn't get in the way of our business dealings and it continues to make us happy.
- The Apostle Paul says we shall reap "if" we "faint not". Do Not Quit!
A. BECAUSE OF THE CAUSE - WE DO NOT QUIT
- The faith we have is of God!
- The Internal Presence Of God - Christianity is living in the express image of God, by the power of God, though the Holy Spirit IN us!
- 2 Cor 3:17; 2 Cor 4:1; 1 Cor 6:19-20 NIV
- You are no longer Yours! You and the Lord are to be ONE
- Know Who You Are - Before you can achieve true success, however, you must know what you are about and what really "floats your boat." ...
B. If We Faint Not, He Will NOT Fail
- Understand God IS Faithful! - If you continue and do not faint, He IS There!
2 Cor 4:14, 16-17
- We gain strength from God "when" we hold to Him!
- Follow God & Don't Faint - You will Win!
- "When the Lord is On Board - Your Ship Will Not Sink." - Mat 8:23-27
- Look at the savior, not the circumstances! Be alert to W.I.P. signs! God has Work In Progress
- It may look like a mess, but when God is finished, it will be a masterpiece!
C. THE PRIZE IS AT THE FINISH LINE
- Payment On Completion - When do you receive a Trophy for Winning a Race OR a Diploma for an Educational Course? Gal 6:9
- We have a Course to Run, a Plan to Fulfill, a Goal to Accomplish!
- Commit to Endure: 2 Tim 2:3-4
- When in a war, you cannot afford to be distracted by things that don't matter in the achievement of your ultimate goal. The temporary things of life are not important enough to miss the mark by seeking after them. 2Tim 2:3-4.
- Decide what is Important in Your Life!
- Dedicate your Focus On Those Things
- Continue to the End of the Course!
2 Tim 4:6-9 I am Ready; I Fought; I Finished; I Will Receive
