FREEDOM TO INVEST IN A SOUL
Text: Matthew 24:42,43
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh.
Preface: God made a GREAT INVESTMENT in each and every one of us when He sent His ONLY begotten Son to die at Calvary for our sin. My question to ALL of us this Sabbath Day is: Are we INVESTING in lost souls?
FREEDOM
Men and women are probably dying, even as we are gathered here today, somewhere on a battle front. They are INVESTING in our FREEDOM in order that we may worship freely as we choose.
A. Jesus Also Made An Investment
- By giving His life for us.
- By making a plan of SALVATION for ALL.
- By CALLING others to DISCIPLE in HIS name.
- By WARNING us that the time is passing fast for us to help our FAMILY and FRIENDS to receive Him as their personal SAVIOR
B. How Did Jesus Do It ? Remember the people JESUS HELPED:
- Woman at Jacob’s well (John 4)
- Made a SPECIAL trip to see her
- Let her KNOW that she was worth saving
- Told her that the HOUR COMETH that she should worship in Spirit and Truth
- Zacchaeus (Luke 19):
- Jesus LOOKED up to find him sitting in a sycamore tree
- Told him that He intended to SPEND TIME with him
- Informed him that the Son of Man had come to SEEK and SAVE the lost.
- Legion (Mark 5):
- Jesus RECEIVED him even though he was possessed with many demons
- Rebuked satan and CLEANSED Legion
- Told him to GO TELL thy FRIENDS what GREAT THINGS God hath done for you.
- Are we investing in lost souls?
- Are we following the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) as Christ ORDERED us as His children to do?
- Or, do we think the Bible is not true, and our FRIENDS and FAMILY have FOREVER to be SAVED?

LORD, WOULD I MAKE IT?
Text: I Thessalonians 4:13-17 - The Rapture of the Church
Preface: Have you ever given deep thought about, what would happen if the Rapture would take place today?
It is serious to think that if God called His church home, we would be left here on earth during the tribulation period.
Jesus stated that we would, "Escape from all these things."
However, according to His Word, there are certain conditions that CANNOT be omitted or left out.
It would be very wise for us to not only look at these, but to TAKE them serious.
A. I Cannot Go To Sleep
- Jesus scorned His disciples for not being able to stay awake and pray. (Matthew 26)
- What about the foolish virgins who could not remain faithful? (Matthew 25)
B. I Forget To Keep Watch
- We should not permit ourselves to be OVERTHROWN by temptations.
- We do not know what hour or day that our Lord shall call. (Matt. 24:36)
- We MUST stay alert and be READY as HE will come as a thief in the night. (ch. 5, vr. 2,6)
C. I Must Lay Hold On Eternal Life
- We should put on the "Breastplate of Faith." (I Thes.5:8)
- We should "Hope in OUR SALVATION" (Ephesians 6:10-19)
- We are "Called to LAY HOLD on ETERNAL LIFE." (I Tim. 6:12, I Cor. 9:24-27)
Points To Ponder
- My friend, the RAPTURE is a very real futuristic event, that will FOR SURE take place.
- Our Lord and Savior has taken SPECIAL time to WARN US of this day.
- Please MAKE SURE TODAY before you leave the building, that you are READY (Rev. 4:1)

DESIGN OF A CHRISTIAN
Text: 2 Cor 5:17 KJV - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Preface: The Bible says the person In Christ (A Christian) is a New Design, a new Creation. What design does God use in His creation? - A design change is normally indicated by a Change in Fit, Form or Function.
A. FIT - Where You Fit In Society
Where you fit has to do with where you "Hang Out & With Whom."
- Hang Out - As a Sinner, your favorite hang out is anywhere it is "All About ME."
- As a Child of God, you will "Not Fit" in those places anymore!
- (John 14:23-24 NRSV) Jesus (said) "Those who love me will keep my word,
... {24} Whoever does not love me does not keep my words;
- With Whom "Being a Christian affects "With Whom" we hang out.
When there is an "engineering change" in your character through Jesus Christ, the company you keep will change!
(Heb 10:24-25 KJV) Forsake not assembling with the saints
B. FORM - Each model has a distinct appearance or form that distinguishes which you are.
- Personality - The form of a Christian is not the same as that of the world.
- What is the personality of a Sinner? (2 Tim 3:2-5 NIV) {2} lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, {3} without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, {4} treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- {5} having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. IF you are a Christian, your Personality Form Will Change!
- Appearance - What does a Christian "look Like"
- A Christian should want to be "Attractive" for service (clean, smell good, neat, unoffensive).
- A Sinner wants to Attractive for Ulterior Motive instead of just nice looking;
- (may have an "I don't care" or rebellious attitude or appearance)
- The appearance of a Christian is "To be like Jesus. "What does Jesus look like?
- (John 13:35 KJV) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
- If you Love Christ you will Love Others, and there will be a desire to ‘Serve’ in your attitude and appearance!
C. FUNCTION - the House is the Same, but the Inside is Remodeled after the image of Christ!
- Function of Christ vs Function of Self -
- As a Christian, I will Function differently than a sinner! You Cannot Become A Christian Without Change!
- I may have some Old Baggage that has to be moved out, But That Ain't me anymore!!
- (Gal 2:20 KJV) I am ‘crucified’ with Christ: ‘nevertheless I live’; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
- The Design of a Christian is to ‘Function as Family’ with God!
- ie: (Luke 15:11-13 NIV) Jesus (said): "There was a man who had two sons. {12} The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me MY share of the estate... he set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
- There was a Kinship, but No Relationship!
- This child was not a "True Son" until he became a servant! (Luke 15:17-19 NIV) "When he came to his senses, he said, ... (I will) go back to my father and say...make me like one of your hired men.’
- You aren't truly a child of God until you become the servant of God. (1 Cor 6:19-20 NIV) ... You are not your own; {20} you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
D. What about It?
- So, are you a Christian?
- If the design of your life seems similar to that of the world, and you still enjoy to participate sin, you should check your model to see if you really are a New Design of God
- You may just be the same Old Design With a New Label.
- Put on the new design of God!

OH, THE POWER OF PRAISE
Text: II SAMUEL 22:1-7
Preface: Even though David had serious lapse in both judgment and Godliness, he continued to seek and PRAISE the Lord out of the depths of his soul.
David did this from the beginning of his life until the very end.
What Does The Word Say About Praise
- The DEAD cannot praise the Lord (Psalm 115:17)
- We are to ENTER into the courts with praise (Psalms 100:4)
- David offered praise 7 TIMES A DAY (Psalm 119:164)
- Praise God ALL YE His servants (Rev.19:5)
A. Look Out, There’s Another Giant
- In chapter 21 verse 15, David is ONCE again confronted with ANOTHER giant
- Has it ever seemed in your life that giants just won't go away?
- Sometimes the giants may seem to have six fingers and six toes as did the one in chapter 21. Hard to get away from someone with 12 fingers and 12 toes.
B. David Knew The Secret
- David claims in his praise that God is:
- His Strength.
- His rock and fortress.
- His savior.
- His stronghold and refuge.
- His shield.
- His deliverer.
- That God is WORTHY to be praised.
C. But God, I Don't Feel Like Praise
- Even in David’s twilight years, he still continued to praise God.
- You see, David acknowledged that God was the source of ALL his VICTORIES.
- Whether in GOOD or BAD times, David knew that God wanted his 100% praise. God still is the right choice.

Lord, I Want To Be Victorious
Text: Jude 17-25, Revelation 2:26
Preface: Praise Our Lord, For He Is Good
It seems today, that the most pressing task for a Christian, is to remain focused and solid in the Word of God.
So very many things that draw our minds and heart, that we are not even aware of the fact of becoming COLD and INDIFFERENT to God.
Satan is very cunning and quick.
We NEVER set out to BACKSLIDE or pull away from our Savior.(Judas,Peter)
The Holy Spirit will warn us of impending DANGER that is approaching our soul. (Luke 12:12)
However, the Word gives us an outline on; "How To Over Come"
A. Remain Strong In The Faith
We MUST build up ourselves by faith
- By knowing "The faith" by study. ( II Timothy 2:15)
- Believe "The faith" with confidence. ( Romans 10:17)
- Sharing "The faith" with others. ( Psalm 126:6)
- Defending "The faith" with tenacity. ( Philippians 1:17)
According to Hebrews 11:6, it is "IMPOSSIBLE" To please God without "The faith".
B. We Need To Pray In The Holy Ghost
- Pray with understanding and pray with the Spirit. ( I Corinthians 14:14-15)
- Often the believer does not know WHAT or HOW to pray as we ought.
- That is when the Spirit makes intercession for us. ( Romans 8:26-28)
- The Holy Spirit is our HELPER.
C. We Must Keep Ourselves.
- In the love of God
- James 4:7-11, informs the Christian that we should "Resist the devil and draw near to God, and He will draw near to us."
- It is EASY for God to detect just how much we actually love Him.

Only Two Kinds Of Servants
Text: Romans 6:16, Revelation 22:11
Preface: What Kind Of Servant Are You?
- Oh, what a solemn pronouncement made in the Book of Revelation. (vr. 11)
- Also, the Book of Romans makes it very clear that we cannot serve two masters.
- The problem with many in the church world today is that they can't make up their mind just which kind of servant they really are.
A. The Kind Of Life.
- There are no alternate ways of servanthood set forth in the Bible. Everyone is living one way or the other;
- Life of service to sin.
- I John 3:4 states that sin is a transgression of the law.
- Life of service to Christ.
- One who follows, serves and wants to obey Christ fully.
- One who loves God and welcomes His presence.
B. The Destinies Of Man.
- What are the destines of servants of sin?
- Parable of fig tree makes it very clear. (Luke 13:6-9)
- God will not be mocked. (Gal. 6:7)
- What are the destines of the servants of
Christ?
- Gift of eternal life. (Romans 6:23)
- Also He gives us abundant life. (John 3:16)
- The wonderful thing about this is that He
offers eternal life to all. (Rev. 22:17)

Get Up, Get Out, Get Going
Text: 1 Chronicles 28:19-20
Preface: GET UP - GET OUT- GET GOING
In our text, God has presented David with the anointed task of assigning Solomon, his son, to building God’s temple.
David wanted this task, but God was not to use David for this purpose. We sometimes don't have an option as to HOW God wants to use us.
I believe that EVERY BELIEVER will receive SIGNED MARCHING ORDERS from Jesus Christ. Signed by His NAIL SCARED HAND
We often try convincing ourselves and others that we are not aware of the purpose that our Heavenly Father has for us.
Therefore, we spend our ENTIRE lives without meaning and void.
All the time, we could have been fulfilling the mission that we have BEEN CALLED FOR As the old adage states; "I can't, never did anything"
A. Get Up !
- David informed Solomon to "GET UP" and perform for his Creator.
- Verse 11 (NKJ) speaks of David giving his son the plans for the Temple.
- Now just suppose that Solomon had gone around pretending; NOT TO HAVE RECEIVED THEM ?
- Would this have hindered the plan of God ?
- God intends for us to GET UP.
B. GET OUT !
- David made it VERY CLEAR that God had "Made him understand by His hand upon me." (vr. 19)
- God informed Solomon to; "Be of good courage and DO IT." (vr. 20)
- Don't you think it HIGH TIME that we as Christians, GET OUT and GO FOR GOD.
- In order to do this for God one must;
- Tell others about Jesus.
- Study to show ourselves approved (II Timothy 2:15)
- Act on your calling as SERVANTS of a great and mighty GOD.
- Not spend your life "WINDOW SHOPPING and NEVER BUYING."
C. GET GOING !
- David told his son that;
- "Do not fear, nor be dismayed, for the LORD GOD - MY GOD will be with you." (vr. 20)
- He added some words that EVERY CHILD of GOD should repeat this Sabbath Day; "He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished ALL the work." (vr.20)
- Having trouble connecting in today’s world?
- Feeling like you don't belong anywhere?
- Maybe you just don't fit in?
- Can't seem to find your purpose?
- Take this little sermon and USE IT to make your life whole.
- Jesus Christ REALLY does love you. (John 3:16).
