What Christ Say’s About Our Core Values
Text: Matthew 6:1-7:27
A Christian Must Define Their Values
Preface: In the Book of Mathew, Jesus spotlights what He believes are a Christian’s "Core Values". This was His first recorded sermon, it is of no wonder why He chose this subject to start the New Testament,
Today, many people cannot tell the difference between a Christian and someone not saved, because their values seem to be the same.
Christ knew that He must teach His disciples the proper values in order for them to function properly as a True Christian.
We must always remember that the only Jesus some will ever see is IN and THROUGH us.
Jesus' List Of Values
- We are to do the Right Things for the Right reasons. (6:1-8, 16-18)
- Pray God’s agenda will be done, not your own. (6:9-13)
- A relationship can Make or Break you. (6:14-15)
- Make Eternal things priority, not Temporal things. (6:19-24)
- 5. Do not worry over Small things. (6:25-31,34)
- Seek First, God’s kingdom. (6:32-33)
- Judge yourself before you judge others. (7:1-6)
- Ask, if you are in need and Give if you have. (7:7-12)
- Stay true, don't wonder from the Straight and Narrow path. (7:13-20)
- Obedience to God is the only True foundation for life. (7:21-27)
Our society today has forgotten what the true core values are. Don't you think that it is high time we Christian’s practice the 10 above values in our lives?

God Does Not Want Me To Make Mistakes
Text: Ecclesiastes 12:1-14
Preface: My God Really Wants Me To Succeed
- Ever noticed how our God can turn a dreary and gloomy day into a glorious and bright day.
- Some relate to the Book of Ecclesiastes as a pessimistic and very discouraging book.
- As you know, one cannot judge a book by reading only part of it.
- When you get almost to the end of this book, you discover how Solomon ends this work with an "UP" note.
- Our Savior would have us to standard our lives in the mold that this chapter sets.
Some Wise Words For The Christian
- Don't ever lose sight of the picture, whether you are young or old. (vr.1-4)
- You MUST do what the right thing, before it gets too late to correct the mistake. (vr. 5-8)
- Let your WORDS be tools to help and lead others, always try to ADD value to people around you. (vr. 11)
- Forget about trying to master EVERY THING in your life, concentrate on what is important. (vr.12)
- As the old song of the church says, "TRUST and OBEY", for there is no other way, because God is the last and ONLY judge. (vr.13-14)

Where Am I, Who Am I, What Am I ?
Text: Exodus 5:22-23 "Why is it that thou hast sent me."
Preface: Ever have a day like the one we read about in the text? Moses surely was called of God to deliver his people (Israel) out of bondage. He is referred in the Scripture as "The servant of the Lord." If you never have a problem, you will never know just how GREAT our Lord really is.
A. But Lord, I Know I Am In Your Will
- Moses believed that he was to emancipate his brethren, so he struck the first blow. (Acts 7:24)
- However, he based this act on the wrong assumption and it was by a wrong method.
- Moses did this act based on his wisdom and strength in the FLESH. (Acts 7:25)
- Sometimes, we take our will and try to convince ourselves and also others, that we are in the WILL OF GOD.
- Moses had to abort his plans and head for the woods or in this case it was Midian and Mount Horeb. (Acts 7:29-30)
B. Where Has My Ego Gone ?
- He who once run before God now lagged behind. God called him out of the "Burning Bush" and he didn't want to go. (Acts 7:30)
- Forty years later and Moses had to have an EGO or HEART adjustment. (80 years old)
- God gave Moses signs and wonders that caused him to finish the course. (II Tim. 4:7)
C. Why Is It Lord
- Our text states that Moses was asking God why he was at this point in his life.
- We must understand this morning that Moses had to die within HIMSELF, before he could succeed further in life.
- F.B. Meyer said, "It is not easy to forego one’s own plans."
- Remember, "Moses returned unto the Lord, and God said, now shalt thou see." (Exodus 6)
- Remember that REVERSES and seeming FRUSTRATIONS do not necessarily mean that we are out of God’s will.
- They are test that God intends to overrule and turn them into BLESSINGS in the long run.

What The Power Of God Will Do For You
Text: Mark 5:25-34
Preface: In out text, Jesus was on His way to raise up the Ruler’s daughter and people pressed to see the Doctor of all Physicians. This is often referred to as "The way-side healing." Many times we are healed by a "Way-side" healing when we are not actually expecting it. However, this woman was certainly over due for her healing (12-years). She didn't believe that she must even see Him or get to talk to Him, just touch His garment. (vr. 27) When we REALLY get desperate for our healing, we will get serious about GETTING HEALED.
A. The Woman Knew For Sure
- There is something about getting touched by the Master.
- Nothing else can compare to the Spirit of God.
- Her faith was without flaw, she believed that Jesus would do what He said He would.
- Her statement proved this, "If I could only touch His garment."
B. When Healed, She Reacted
- By trembling with fear.(vr.33)
- When touched by the SPIRIT of GOD, one will know that a DIVINE presence has passed by.
- This woman, after seeking the best advice from physicians, came and knelt at the Master’s feet, and told Him the TRUTH. (vr.33)
- She was HUMBLED by HIS presence.
C. What Encouragement He Gave
- After presenting herself to Christ, He offered GREAT encouragement to her. (vr.34)
- It is ALWAYS Christ’s desire to encourage His children (John 14:27)
- It is His peace that He gives to us. WILL we accept it this Sabbath day?

Can I Control Myself?
Text: Galatians 5:23
Preface: Oh, how sweet to study God’s Word To say the word self-control is saying a mouth-full. Self control means having the ability to choose one’s own thoughts, words and also control our actions.
The problem lies in doing it. This problem is seems to be a common one among even Christians. God leaves some interesting and relative steps in gaining control of this issue. How sweet it WILL BE tonight, if some accept and place into action the study we are about to enter into.
A. I Must Admit That I Have A Problem
We choose the things we want to do. James 1:14 tells us, “That each one is tempted and by our own desire, we are enticed and dragged away. We don't necessary like rationalization, we;
- Ignore problems
- Deny problems
- Explain away our problems
- Blame others with our problems
B. I Must Put My Past Behind Me
- Past failures do not determine present potential. (Phil. 3:13-14)
- A continued focus on past failures will guarantee repetition.
C. I Must Talk Back To My Feelings
- Don't let your moods manipulate you.
- Some self-control issues are wrapped up in feelings that directly involve our physical body.
- God wants us to master our moods. (Titus 2:11-12)
- God’s grace gives us the power to do right.
D. You Must Believe You Can Change
- A person’s beliefs determine their behavior.
- Victory begins in our thought life
- We need to focus and stay focused on God’s power and promises. (Phil. 4:13)
- Use the proper sequence: Spirit control comes first. (Gal. 5:16)
- We must understand what we already possess. (Phil. 2:13, 4:13)
