Today we celebrate the 4th of July

July 4, 2004 - Nashville
Pastor Peterson presided over the flag processional and the prayer for those on our prayer lists today. He then called for others to lead prayer for our country, The United States of America, then for our state, Tennessee, and finally for our city, Nashville.

Just prior to the morning message, Pastor Peterson described his surgery on last Friday, where they went in to again remove some loose tissue in his airway. The surgery took longer than expected. Pastor Peterson's airway remains to be less than half of the normal airway.

Patriotic songs were mixed with songs of praise and worship as we celebrated Independence Day for our great country. Major Tom Duncan and Reverend Luthor Ramsey, retired out of the military, presented our country's flag and the Christian flag in preparation of saying allegiance to both flags and what they stand for. Reverend Rucker Chunn then presented the morning message, Spiritual Independence, where if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

We prayed for all of those who are serving in our military forces.
